Global Warming, Is it Fact or Fiction?

When you think of the threat we have many would say nuclear war and terrorism is the main one, but did you know that it's actually global warming. Some will argue about this being a reality and go as far as joke about it though they admit man has done a lot to bring such damage. The physical process of global climate systems is not easily understood and interest groups put their own spin on the scientific data as to why the temperatures are rising.

However, according to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, global warming is nothing that you can argue against and mankind has a lot to do with it. There are still some that won't agree with this conclusion and say that cities heat up because they're growing in population. Those that are live in cities pay attention to the infrastructure and note how concrete and steel absorb the sun’s heat and cool down at night. If you get around someone who’s repairing the streets you can just feel that intense heat.

Nevertheless, I notice people are always trying to explain things away and refuse to face reality in the face; if its going to hurt their pocket there's no such thing as global warming. I hear it all the time if I turn on talk radio. They're talking off the top of their lungs, screaming like banshees, making excuses for this, that and sometimes even mocking the terrible situation that many countries find themselves in.

Have you noticed how the climate has changed in one place after the other? It's either too hot, too cold, with floods, earthquakes or tsunamis. I'm sure that many people know that there is something seriously going on because it wasn't like this before.

With everything we know can we expect mankind to make changes in their lives before they continue to destroy the planet? We need to start making those necessary changes. We also need to address human greed, self-interest, ignorance, inept government, and apathy. Is this probable or is it wishful thinking; do we still have hope and are we willing to embrace it?
